Essentials Collection
Did you know that we had been working on the Essentials collection for the majority of 2020? We know what you’re thinking, this sounds like a long time right? Well it is, but there are so many things to consider when creating a new collection - the designs, the material, the fit and feel and so much more.
One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Stay Wild is our fit and feel. As we’re constantly told how incredible our customers feel in our swimwear and how the pieces perfectly fit to their body. And our Essentials collection is no different. The range is made right here in London using premium TENCEL™ fabric, an incredible sustainable material which we’ve double lined to give a super soft second skin feel, with no wires and minimum seams for maximum comfort. It’s flattering, feminine and functional. Created to empower, it’s the everyday wear that you won’t want to take off.
To ensure we captured this Stay Wild feeling that we’ve become known for, we spent over nine months fitting our new Essentials range on a number of models and different body shapes. Because no two bodies are the same, so why should we just fit with one?
It’s a back and forth process when it comes to creating the right fit. Our models would come in and we’d see how each piece would fit on their body - where it was too loose, too tight, not enough coverage, etc. We would then make the adjustments and bring back the models to see how the new pieces would fit. This would happen a number of times until we were all completely happy with the product. But we weren’t just going off of our thoughts, our models played a huge role in creating the pieces we have today by suggesting alterations to the designs where they thought more or less material was needed to allow them to feel the most comfortable and confident.
Now you know the process, we want to introduce you to a few of the incredible women that modelled our pieces in the campaign but also helped us get the fit right, here are some of their adjustments and what they think of the pieces now.
